Right now, I am:

Remembering my morning yoga session with my one and only.  She's priceless.

Preparing for our trip to Italy. Bags are being packed, and toddler appropriate toys and activities are being planned.

Trying not to worry.  H woke up with a hoarse voice and sniffles today, of course 48 hours before we leave.  She's also teething so I'm hoping it's more related to that than illness.  We've loaded up on elderberry, cod liver oil, and probiotics all week in preparation for travel, so I'm hoping that helps.

Feeling slightly drained, for a silly reason.  I posted something about the benefits of cloth diapers on facebook yesterday, and it started a massive debate with my brother-in-law (who for many years has to disagree with every word that comes out of my mouth).  He's quite the antagonist, and it left me feeling super empty.  On top of it I think it inadvertently offended some of my disposable using friends when all I was trying to do interest a few of my fellow cloth diapering moms, moms to be, etc.  Silly to dwell on, I know.  I've realized parenting is full of guilt for all of us.

Watching the rain pour and pour.  Oregon and Washington are being hit with quite the storm right now, and I'm left looking out the window at our gigantic tall trees wondering when our power is going to go out.  The wood stove is going, we have extra water, and candles are lit.  My girl was even sleeping on the first floor couch with me until she woke up, looked at the tv show I was watching, and started clapping.  Teehee.


Happily recalling the rainy day activities H & I did today: we made naturally dyed playdough, and of course built some massive blanket forts.  She likes to sign often, and her new sign for getting the playdough out is putting her finger to her cheek and saying 'mmmm!' ... I think because it smells good? We used cocoa for brown, and frozen blackberries for a deep red.  The cocoa in particular smells amazing!



Feeling frustrated with my lack of skills in the kitchen as of late.  I've been having a hard time downing any bitter greens and quite a few veggies throughout my first trimester, so it's left my menu even less exciting than usual.  Any easy dinner tips, friends?  Hoping Italy inspires me!

Grateful for a house and animal sitter, it puts me at ease.
