Ap·ril, n.; a wife & momma foremost. a human, a secret, a melody in your head. a war zone, an activist, a writer.  opinionated, stubborn, expressive, liberal. she hearts music and speaks too often. she loves so hard. animals understand her better than people. she smiles in the presence of nature; to her there is nothing more pure.

I am from the Northern Peninsula of Michigan, in 2007 moved to Oregon, both of which are absolutely incredible.  I work as a RN specializing in labor and delivery for both in and out of hospital birth, and I also work in neonatal intensive care.  I was married in September ‘08 to a lovely man who shares my passion for nature and in February of 2012 (after three long years of infertility) we welcomed our amazing daughter Hazel Annan into the world.  In April 2014 we welcomed our second daughter Juniper Louise earth side as well.  We have a household inundated with animals, it’s a bit of a spectacle if I do say so myself.

I want to live a life that I love & make others smile and laugh along the way. I want to inspire my daughters, make my husband proud. I crave irresistable people with passion and soul; the artists and hippies, the adventurers and the writers. I love to write; it will always be this niche, a place so comforting and unwittingly nostalgic, me.
