Silver Falls State Park

A couple of weeks ago we spent the day hiking at Silver Falls State Park on a trail called the 'trail of ten falls.' I was sooo excited although we only got about halfway done with it (4'ish miles or so) due to time constraints. Hazel was in absolute awe of each waterfall.
We walked behind/underneath the first two falls, and it was a bit wet!
I love the picture below. You can see the trail we continued on to the left of the falls, and it's a good indicator of the elevation gain & loss throughout our trek. This entire park is essentially a large canyon, and the surrounding landscape is farm fields. It felt odd all of the sudden driving into this lush, rainforest-like canyon.

I love it there!!!
I would love to do the longer hike, but my older kids are not into hiking anymore...sadly.
I wish we we closer I need some hiking buddies! Maybe we can meet up this summer. I wouldn't be suprised if we ran into each other by accident out in the woods sometime.

p.s. My husband and I think Silverton is a really cute little town.Did you spend any time there? We sometimes drive there just for fun and to get out of the city.

Heidi - we haven't spent any time there actually! This was such a quick little day trip for us, we'll have to check it out next time. LOVED your blog posts about the falls as well! Seeing your kiddos younger was too cute :)
