Roloff Farms
Posted on | October 17, 2012 | 2 Comments
We recently visited Roloff Farms up near Portland - & let me tell you, it was fantastic! I've always been a fan of the television show 'little people big world,' even though I haven't had cable for over two years now. If you haven't seen it - it's a reality tv show about a family of little people (actually three of their kids are average height) that live on a successful homestead that started with only a few acres and an old farm house. They are now a successful farm & both the parents are motivational speakers/authors and have done some wonderful volunteer work. I've always wanted to visit them since moving to Oregon, & October is the one time they open it to the public (they are a pumpkin farm).
I was telling Brad on the way up that I really was hoping to meet at least one of the Roloffs. He laughed and told me not to expect it, so I let it go & assumed I wouldn't meet them.
But alas...
Amy Roloff, the mother, was there right as we walked up! She was so sweet & we chatted for a couple of minutes. Hazel loved her, too.
We then proceeded to the pumpkin patch & snapped a few photos. H was in such a good mood & enamored with the pumpkins.
Before we left we took a tour of their property. The parents built so many fabulous things for their kids over the years, one of which was old buildings together called 'Western Town.' When we got to western town I was pleasantly surprised to see their son Zach Roloff meet us there! He was a very nice dude indeed.
Meet & tour the Roloff family farm: check!
