June Doings

It's June on the Christopher homestead. We've been busy loving on animals & one another. I harvested romaine over the last two weeks, providing us with delicious caesar salad many nights this week. The herb garden is in full bloom; lavender calling over the chickens like catnip to a cat. Dust bathing is also in full speed - no eggs yet, however. Next month we hope.
We've remained quiet. Two weeks ago we spent a few days camped on a mountain lake, a view of three mountains from our tent. The days were hot and the evenings beautiful, providing us with gorgeous sunsets and star shows. The air at night was just warm enough you didn't mummy zip the sleeping bag (because cuddling is much more important don't you know?).
And four weeks ago, we began the ride of a lifetime. I hid it from this dear blog out of fear. See, the whole "screaming it from the rooftops!" hasn't happened (yet!). When it takes three years to achieve such happiness, success can be surreal.
Until last week when we had a doctors appointment. We saw a precious heartbeat, 124 beats per minute. We are already in love.
I guess I should mention this, in case any of you are ultrasonographers out there
That's two babes in there.
Yes, we saw two heartbeats. Identical twins to be exact - even my doc was surprised!
EDC is 2/1/12 (I'm 8 weeks currently), however with twins will it will most likely be around New Years!

I've never been so ready in my life.

Oh my gosh!!!! I was just wondering about you last night! Congrats!! So excited for you!! (Can you tell by all the exclamation points?!) Twins!! What an incredible surprise. I'm sure I'll have some hand-me-downs for you if you would like them.

APRIL!!!!!!!!! I am beyond excited for you!! And twins!?! I am so happy for you, your husband and those two very lucky babies. Can't wait to hear all about this very exciting ride you are about to take!
