I've been feelin' sort of peaceful lately.

Posted on | January 29, 2011 | 2 Comments

It's about sunny days with sixty degree weather.  We've had two bonfires and even grilled out a few times.  By golly I find myself forgetting it's winter, taking a book a light blanket on the deck for my reading pleasure while pinching myself all the while.

And wouldn't you know I bought chicken supplies today.  Two weeks until chick time.

I officially applied for an evening shift position at work after four years on nights.  The thought of being a normal sleep at night person again filled me with such lightness.  Of course, seniority rules in a union, so we will see. (Wait - that's not a peaceful thought, is it?).

It's about reminiscing over Yellowstone.

And discovering that not one but two creeks run through our property, along with a beautiful grove of cedars.

I'm finding reading and spirituality much more uplifting than it has in years.

And there is a warm & fat cat purring as I type.

But I suppose mainly it's about the simplicity of

walking in an hazelnut orchard

and loving someone.

I'm so glad you are finding peace. You have no idea how much I want to find it with you!
Reading on your deck sounds like the best thing ever (especially in that 60 degree weather)

And good for you about the evening shift. some "normal-sy" in your life will be a good thing. less stress :)
