Voilà!

Exactly one month to the day that we got our keys, it is finally time to introduce our new hardwood (bamboo) floors in before/after shots.
Note to self: marrying a man who in a previous life was a contractor = very wise idea. He can really rock a hammer.
Previous owners decor, 30 year old carpet
Admist the rubble, 5/1/10
Way to go, us!
Wow, I finally have a living room! 5/16/10
There is still so much do, but isn't decorating way better than construction? It is, indeed.
Oh, and to end this beutiful day I managed to lock myself out of the house and had to use a 32 foot ladder to climb in upstairs. Give me a pat on the back for that one. I rock.

Ooh that is gorgeous floors! Lol for locking yourself out. I once locked myself between the wooden front door and the safety door at my parent's house. I sat in the little 1 metre x 1,5 metre cubicle for over 2 hours cause I forgot my phone inside *sigh*

love it!!! you guys are awesome! isn't it amazing how flooring can make or break a room? consider your room made :) can't wait to see what other fantastical projects are underway. as for getting locked out, at my ma's house the doors are such that they're always unlocked from the inside but locked from the outside. so she had a back window she'd leave open just enough for us to reach around and unlock the door. not safe but it sure saved our butts a bunch :)

i just left you a really long comment and then it deleted it saying i didn't type in the word verification correctly. :( it basically said you guys are awesome and your floors look a.maz.ing. and etc. and also major points for thinking to climb in upstairs :)
you so rock :)
