Madame Bovary

I kicked a habit. I suppose it was like a smoker giving up that last drag or the junkie with her scratched skin. You were (are) this deranged and detrimental drug. I look from afar sometimes & ponder. I question where I would be in life if we had never met. Would I be here, on the other side of the country with the big trees and the rain? Would I have ever met B? I suppose I should thank you, because I often think not.But I will tell you this; it was hard to give you up.
The hunger for an alternative can be so alluring.

this is the perfect analogy. wow do I feel this and know this all too well.

I'm reading this book called "Little Children" right now. It's actually a great movie with Kate Winslet in it. It's about this woman struggling with the mundane life of being married with a child - in a very lifeless marriage. It was the inspiration for writing that, and with my past and how you are feeling too.
Madame Bovary is a novel also about a simliar thing, a woman wanting to "escape the banalities and emptiness of provincial life" to be exact. It's mentioned in 'Little Children', hence the title to my post. Anyways I know how closely we can both relate at times.
I think you'd like the book. :)

I actually have been meaning to watch that movie "Little Children". It always looks interesting to me when I see it in the store. for some reason I haven't picked it up yet! The book is probably better though and it sounds like I will enjoy it :)
