Solids with a touch of naked bum
Posted on | August 15, 2012 | 2 Comments
What we've been up to:
Solids! I haven't quite figured out if Hazel likes solids or not. Sure, these pictures make it look so but every time she puts a bite in her mouth she makes a face and sometimes even gags (maybe it's a texture thing?). She didn't like the avocado much, however the sweet potatoes above were a so-so. She seemed to enjoy solids more if she fed herself. Other mamas out there - what did your littles first think of solids? I'm keeping in mind 'foods before one are just for fun.'
We've always been spending quite a bit of time outside. Hazel remains absolutely enamored by the dogs and busts out laughing by simply looking at them. Mama has been working on what's alive in her garden (oy vey!), and B has been working on the property and chopping wood for the coming winter.

Last week we went blueberry picking again, this time with Jeff, Taryn, and Bracken. I had such a fantastic time, especially since I don't get to visit with Taryn very often (we're both country folk, just opposite sides of the county!). We now have at least ten lbs of frozen blueberries in our freezer, delicious!
Oh, and if you ever wondered where Hazel got her hair from, wonder no more:

The picture on the left is me at 6-7 months, and the one on the right is obviously Hazel. Some people I showed thought I was showing them two pictures of Hazel. I love this.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

She is so adorable! I especially love the photo of her with the dogs. :)
Clara took quite awhile to really get into solids. She never really liked purees and would only eat them if she fed herself. That's why I started on table food pretty early, following a little bit of baby- led solids. I just cut things up itsy bitty and put them on her tray. As she has grown, the chunks have gotten bigger. Scrambled eggs and bananas have always been favorites of hers.
