Mount Pisgah

Posted on | July 3, 2012 | 2 Comments

I've been itching to go hiking lately, and of course it's been raining a good majority of June.  Finally yesterday it was sunny and I had a day off.  I am usually too timid to hike alone with the babe (in the wilderness) but today I decided it was time!  I drove above twenty minutes from home to a beautiful area to hike Mount Pisgah, a 3+ mile hike up (up & up!) a gorgeous butte overlooking the Willamette Valley.  I was stopped a half dozen times by people telling me what an adventurous mother I am, which made me feel great.

Hazel absolutely loved it.  I only had my camera phone with me but was able to capture some special images below.  I love pic in the middle - Hazel's expression was priceless, she was so awestruck.

I took a video of her at the top.  When she is excited and happy about something she makes this sound that's a combination of a laugh and a cough, haha.  It is unfortunately sideways and not the best quality, but it makes me smile (don't mind the neck fart mama gives Hazel midway through!).

I think we have a hiker on our hands!

You are brave! I have also been considering some baby-mama hikes, but haven't worked up the courage yet.

What a beautiful sweet babe, loved to hear her sweet voice.I wish I lived closer to you so we could hike together with our babes.
    Nalah loves to hike too.
That looks like my kind of place for sure :)
Lately I have my little tribe hiking along with me. We have been sticking close to home since Papa works out of town all week. Mt tabor is our local..almost daily haunt.
