B and I spent a few days camping this past week in the cascade range, namely the three sisters wilderness. Here is a quick rundown of our fantabulous trip:
Number of ...
miles hiked: 8
times my labrador found and ate a human turd: 2
hitchikers (lost, teenager hikers) picked up: 2
hours our old, spoiled lab growled and cried in her kennel in protest of not sleeping in the tent: 3
times we wished and hoped: 326
times we told our dogs to bark because we didn't want RV'ers camping next to us: 4 (so bad, hah)
books read: 1
waterfalls gawked at: 2
times a homeless guy turned down food for his "gluten free" dog: 1
photographs taken: 196 (a record small amount, for me)
times I remembered how lucky we are to have one another: endless

this sounds like just the trip you needed! so glad you and your boy and your pups had a wonderful time :) it's nice to have those moments where things are put into perspective and you know how lucky you are, even though you don't feel that way most of the time :) (um, and that picture is unbelievable. holy crap.)
