December 25: Merry Christmas!

I hope all of you had a blessed christmas day! We had a mellow day at home with just the three of us, which is amazing due to the rarity of having holidays off together. We woke up to presents, went for a short hike, and made delicious meals. Unfortunately tonight has been spent with our 12 year old pup who suddenly is not wanting to get up and is having labored breathing, despite hiking happily today alongside us. We're worried and unsure what to do. I'm sure we'll end up at the vet in the am if not tonight if this keeps up. Keep her in your thoughts and/or prayers.

Update: The pup (Haley) was brought to the vet early the 26th... they gave her some antibiotics & pain meds & said there wasn't much they could do besides watch/wait. Haley is lifting her head up & going out to potty, eating very small amounts of rice as of now (12:30 am the 27th). We're hoping it's uphill from here but also on the other hand, if it's her time we want it to be as pain free and easy as possible. Suggestions welcome.
