Ocean Breathes Salty
Posted on | February 3, 2010 | 3 Comments
Spending the next couple of days on the ocean with the in-laws. I'm eager to be one with the salt air, despite the weather forecast. As a result of growing up on the Great Lakes in the midwest, any large body of water is my safe place, a home where I belong.
I told myself I will go running. I will ponder - a solid attempt to expand on the current nothingness of my mind. I will drink red wine and take plenty of photos, wet as my camera may get. I will be grateful for my dog, my neice and nephew. I will be thankful that when the kids throw temper tantrums I can decide to go on that jog ... the secret joy of not being the parent, hah! I will listen to music and drink expresso like it's water.
There's nothin' like a getaway.

I am going on a get-a-way this weekend too :) I wish it could be to the ocean... but Neil and I are taking a train down to Chicago and staying for 3 days. it should be great! Had to celebrate his big 30th birthday somewhere fun!
Hope you have a fabulous time and clear your mind for a bit :)

Good for you, April. I'm really glad you're going on this get away that will do so much for your soul. Have a great time! And, yeah, enjoy the joys of not being a parent (yet). ;)
